Lakes in catalonia

These natural spaces are of cultural interest thanks to the historical tradition they represent, and constitute one of the best sites in Western Europe to learn about the passage from Neanderthal man to modern man.
This natural space has a route of 500 meters, in which you can see all kinds of stalactites, stalagmites and columns with a landscape worthy of a movie. These natural caves stand out for being particularly eccentric natural phenomena. In addition to the Cueva de las Maravillas (Cave of Wonders), the following caves can be found in the area: L’Avenc del Sitó, the Cueva d’En E. Marigot, l’Aumediella Gran, la del Dos and the Avenc del Catalanismo.
The Cueva del Manel, also known as Cueva Nueva and Cueva Roja, is the longest cave in the group of natural caves that form part of the Parque Natural de

Discover the Catalan land from the inside! Yes, yes: we have not gone crazy! In different parts of the territory we can find a wide variety of caves that allow us to go into the interior of our land. They are impressive places that look like something out of a fairy tale and are ideal to go with your family or your partner.
Throughout the Catalan region you can find natural areas of breathtaking beauty. But, nature is not only found on the outside, in view of all, but often we have to penetrate inside to see the essence of the land.
You should know that to visit these caves you can do it in a guided tour or, if you prefer, you can hire an audio guide and do it freely. The visit consists of 3 parts that include audiovisuals, an exhibition hall and, of course, the visit to the 3 most important caves of the site.
In the town of Benifallet we find different caves that are located in a speleological set of almost obligatory visit. In total there are 6 caves although, nowadays, only 2 of them can be visited for security reasons: the Cova Meravelles and the Cova del Dos.

The caves are divided into two sectors: the south gallery, 108 m long and occupied by prehistoric man, and the east gallery, 80.5 m long, which borders an intermittent river course. However, only the former can be visited (Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm). The site is on the N-141C road, km 32.
In the municipality of L’Espluga de Francolí, there are the impressive caves of La Espluga, natural cavities used by humans since the Paleolithic. The museum inside the Font Major Cave Museum shows what life was like in prehistoric times, by means of projections on the rock walls. These show how the discovery of the caves took place. Outside the cave, you can also see the recreation of a full-scale Neolithic settlement.
The mine has a total of 20 subway levels. The guided tour allows you to visit about 700 m of the second floor, 35 m deep. However, before you go there, we recommend that you check the opening hours at minesbellmunt.com.
