Now turn to the pass and go to the left, following a flat trail. You arrive at a small ramp, where at the top there is the best known peak of the area, the Puigsacalm, probably full of people. Now go down along the lower path, facing downhill. Follow the signs to Bracons. Further on and after passing a gate, you have to stop and leave the main road that goes downhill and take a track that goes to the left.
You follow the track that goes flat and further on it turns into a trail. At the end of a long period of time, the trail passes by a big tree and goes bravely, going to the top of the Tossell Gros. Once you have seen it, you continue going uphill, along a steep path. After a short time you arrive at a small channel equipped with chains. From here you will find successive stretches equipped with chains and steps, to overcome different rocky crags.
Already in the forest, you go down, you join the main road and after a while you get to the Coll de Bracons, full of cars on both sides. Go to the track in front, where there is a gate. At the end of a short time
Puigsacalm
Puigsacalm is the highest mountain in the Serralada Transversal, at 1,515 meters above sea level. In this itinerary we will climb Puigsacalm and Puig dels Llops from the village of Joanetes, two of the most imposing peaks of the Serralada.
The route stands out mainly for the channels that we will overcome both downhill and uphill, two sections equipped with hooks and cords that will facilitate the passage. We will go up through the Canal Fosca or Canal dels Ganxos Nous and we will go down through the path of the Pas dels Burros and the path of the Ganxos Vells. A route that we can consider as an initiation in vias ferrades, since it allows to do it without equipment.
We continue until we arrive at the pass of Joanetes, from where we have taken the ascent to the Puig dels Llops, and we continue a few more meters to find the sign that indicates the descent to the Ganxos Vells (4:45h – 1.300m).
Joanetes
The route stands out mainly for the channels that we will overcome both downhill and uphill, two sections equipped with hooks and ropes that will facilitate their passage. We will go up through the Canal Fosca or Canal de los Ganchos Nuevos and we will go down through the path of the Paso de los Burros and the path of the Ganchos Viejos. A route that we can consider an initiation route in via ferrata, since it can be done without equipment.
Difficulty: The technical difficulty is high in the sections of the hooks, where we will need a certain skill to overcome them. The physical demand is also high due to the steep slope to overcome.
We continue until we reach the Joanetes pass, from where we have taken the path up to Puig dels Llops, and continue a few more meters to find the detour to the descent through the Old Hooks (4:45h – 1,300m).
The part of the hooks makes us stretch our legs well and stop very carefully where we put our feet, as the wall may reach 4 or 5 meters high and the hooks are quite far apart.
Feedback
We take advantage of the fact that it is a wide summit with incredible views to have dinner here. Then we go back up to the base of the summit and turn left to the summit of Puigsacalm (1,514 m). Crowned with a large pedestal of cement and a flag, we take the obligatory group photos.
Once we have reached the summit we go down to the left to the Collet de Clivillers and here we take a path that descends in slope towards Sudest. We find a cord that helps us to overcome a pronounced slope and after about 500 meters we turn to the left and take the path of Pas dels Burros.
Afterwards we still have to climb a bit until we arrive at the “Barret”. When we arrive there we turn to the right to return to make the path of the beginning of the excursion, passing again through the Puig del Soi and the Puig de la Peresa, following the green marks until we arrive at Joanetes.
