The first rack railway (2016) that we can take and that connects with the train to Ribes de Freser-Enllaç leaves at 9:30h. On weekdays we can take the 6.27h train to Barcelona from Pl. Catalunya, with enough time to take the first rack train uptown. The train timetable if it is a weekday (7:06h), even so, it is enough time to get to the 9:30h rack train.
The path is obvious and well marked with the GR-11 markers. Cows and chickens usually graze on this stretch. Arriving at Molleres, we cross the Pont de l’Escuder, made of wood, to start a slope also grassy and less clear path. We have to look for a signpost that we will see in front of us, a little to the east (right).
This signpost indicates a fork. The left fork leads to the Coll de Noufonts. We continue to the right towards the pass of Noucreus, going up the torrent of Molleres, until the clot of Noucreus, when the path makes a big turn to start the final climb to the pass of Noucreus (2.795m).

From France, the access by the river has been forced by cornices carved in the rock, footbridges and suspension bridges. The visitor easily crosses this natural amusement park, where he tests his mastery of the fear of heights, while, under his feet, the river makes its way through the rock walls.
After leaving the car, you will find two signs on white panels hooked on a post, where it says on the first sign, indicating to the right: «La Carança par Chambre d’eau et Corniche», and on the second sign, indicating to the left: «La Carança per Roc de Madrid ou Corniche» (Photo 1).
After a few meters, you find another sign indicating «Les Passerreles» (Photo 3) in white color and very large letters painted on a concrete wall, and the arrows indicate in both directions, both to the right and to the left.
As I said, we follow the path to the left, not the one that goes along the river, which goes up to about 1200m. altitude, and then, after about 45 minutes, we descend steadily to the river Carança.
Refuge of mariailles
Walking through these solitary places will be a gift for our senses. Isolated in these remote places we find the refuges of Ulldeter, Ras de Carança, Coma de Vaca, linked together by the magnificent Travesía de los Tres Refugios.
The Three Refuges Crossing is a fantastic proposal to discover, on foot, unforgettable landscapes of the Eastern Pyrenees. You can enjoy the abundance of wildlife, beautiful flowers, spectacular gorges, solitary lakes, lush forests and mighty rivers.

The crossing can be done perfectly in two days, with effective days of 7-8 hours per day and a positive difference of 880 meters the first day (we should add 150-200 meters if we climb the Pic de L’infern, an absolutely recommendable ascent) and 1500 meters the second day (in two comfortable and progressive ascents, don’t panic).
We started the descent to the refuge through the long valley, alternating planes where the river backwaters with steeper descents. On this route we especially enjoyed the alpine flora and to a lesser extent the fauna. At times we even felt like we were in a well-tended garden. There is nothing like leaving mother nature alone.
To get there is almost 800 meters downhill, passing through the Jaça dels Collets and Collets d’Avall, from where we turn left following the GR 10 to take the valley of the Riberola river that will take us to the refuge of l’Orri (where we left the GR 10) and l’Estanyet. The path is very pleasant between meadows and pine forests. Diana and I go ahead while Manel and David reinforce the paternal-filial relationship. The shelter is free (it has a closed part of the shepherd) and has a fireplace, table and chairs and some mattresses on bunk beds. Acceptable.
