TVE announced at the end of October that Seis hermanas would end on April 21, 2017, coinciding with a new project on La 1’s sobremesa called Servir y proteger. The series was replaced after its finale by Acacias 38 following a change in the programming of La 1’s afternoons.
After the premiere, Avelino González and Eva Almaya were incorporated to reinforce the plots. After surpassing the barrier of 100 episodes, the series suffered the first casualties: Mario Alberto Díez and Carlota Olcina in chapters 123 and 141 respectively.
In July 2016, Kiti Mánver left the series with more than 300 episodes behind her. In that same month the news is known that a main actress, Celia Freijeiro, leaves the series, whose plot ending is resolved after the death of her character. At the same time, María Cotiello joins the series in the role of Soledad, a previously unknown sister. With her, there are now six sisters in the series.
