Just like the LaLiga clubs and those of the three RFEF divisions, the youth teams are also working towards next season. The reigning champion of Group 5 of the División de Honor Juvenil, Atlético de Madrid, already knows who will be in charge of the team that should nurture the reserve and first team in the future. It is a former player of the club, a legend of the entity and who has won all kinds of titles at national and international level.
The first youth team of the ‘colchonero’ team will be led by Fernando Torres, a European champion and world champion. The former striker of Atleti, Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC, among others, will be in charge of leading Atlético de Madrid’s Juvenil A project. The challenge will be difficult, as the bar is very high after the team was proclaimed champion of the Juvenil DH Group 5 in the 20/21 season.
