Dickinson has been great. He has not stopped for a second, being far above his physical level even in other tours. And that’s not to say little, precisely… He sang incredibly well, reaching some very demanding notes. His interpretation has gained in drama. He is more and more theatrical, representing each song, looking for the scenic element that transports him to the story he wants to tell us, with his poses, his costumes, the use of props?
For his part, Harris continues, after the huge amount of shows offered throughout his long professional career, with that smile, that spirit, that desire to eat the stage of the first day. His illusion is maximum and nothing less than 100% for his fans. It is amazing to see all this in someone of his status. Next to him, Nicko’s base has been brutal as always, with his usual punch, although in some passages I noticed him maybe a little slower. Although it is possible that it was just my perception.

With a revamped stage design and a repertoire equally different from previous tours, this Legacy of the Beast World Tour kicks off with Aces High and Where Eagles Dare and a large fighter plane flying over a stage that also features guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers and drummer Nicko McBrain. In an atmosphere of collective euphoria, Iron Maiden fans feel this reunion as a necessary ceremony of collective reaffirmation rather than a concert. And that assures success in advance, beyond the fact that the band is still in top form despite the passing of the decades.

I guess the vast majority of Maiden fans will more or less agree that Virtual XI is the weakest of the 16 albums released by the maiden throughout her vast career. Some …
After forty-five minutes of energetic heavy metal, military pants, war stories from all corners of the world and choreographies, Sabaton faced the end of their concert with the whistled melody that gives way to «To Hell and Back», retiring amid applause and ovations that rewarded a performance that, despite sounding pretty bad, more than fulfilled what was asked of them. The Swedes may be simplistic and all you want (which they are), but live they are a sure value and, in today’s circumstances, they seemed to me an ideal choice.
The opening «Only Pain» already sounded magnificent, but when they got into their stride with «L’Enfant Sauvage», one of my favorite songs, it went up to stratospheric levels. Not to mention what happened when they started playing the brutal intro of the spectacular «Flying Whales». That’s when I started to gorge myself in my seat/cage (funny thing about headbanging sitting down), only to open my eyes after a while and see everyone around me absolutely impassive. I was almost offended by the fact that people didn’t know or didn’t want to appreciate the great set that the French were playing. In fact, Joe Duplantier himself commented at one point that he feared their performance was going to be a real disaster and that everyone was going to sweat them. He said that from where he saw it it wasn’t so bad either, although the truth is that they only got a few sincere ovations when they made an occasional mention to Iron Maiden. Malaguanyats, you.
