«I am very sensitive, but when I have to be strong I am also strong. What I have experienced with my sister has made me see life differently. Before, I used to get overwhelmed at the slightest problem. Now I stop to think that you have to live and enjoy every moment. We don’t know when our end will be. I try to cope well and take the positive side of everything,» she explained.
His relationship with horses arose during one of his summer visits to his father’s birthplace, Gijón: «In the meadows there are horses on the loose. I wanted to touch them! It has always been my favorite animal.» Such is his love for equines that he has moved to Belgium, the birthplace of equestrianism, where he combines his participation in championships with a distance learning degree in Business Administration and Management.
About his father, he emphasizes above all his «family» side despite his strong «character»: «He loves to gather all of us in front of the fireplace and play cards, for example. And he loves to travel. At Christmas we always go away. Now that he is coach, Sira has become the biggest fan of La Roja: «At home we live it with a lot of emotion. We go crazy! We shout, we cheer…».

Pending more tournaments, the rider counts the days to return to Asturias. In Gijón she spends Christmas and summers with her family. Riding at the Club Hípico Astur (Chas) is special for her. «Sira is a tireless worker, humble and has a special feeling for riding. Sira confesses about her first time at the Camp Nou that «I had a terrible time. I couldn’t stop crying! The noise was deafening and there were so many people. When I stayed in the stands with my mother, I also cried. So she decided not to take me until I was a little older». That is now behind her and she explains that «now I love it and I go whenever I can».
One of the places where she has taken refuge is horse riding, her passion and profession, where she confirms that she sees something therapeutic: «Yes, it’s my refuge. When I’m sad, I get on and forget everything. I concentrate and it’s as if we were one. The nice thing is to understand your horse because they tend to be unpredictable».
