This situation affected the mental health of people, including MSF staff, as they reminisced about violent times in the past. In this regard, the organization’s staff was essentially dedicated to providing psychological first aid and direct medical care, supporting the health centers, whose structures had been heavily affected. Puerto de la Cruz es una ciudad y municipio del norte de la isla de Tenerife, en las Islas Canarias, España. Antiguamente se conocía por su traducción al inglés, «Port of the Cross», aunque ahora se conoce por su nombre en español en todos los idiomas. El Puerto de la Cruz está situado en la costa norte, a 4 km (2 mi) al noroeste de La Orotava y a 30 km (19 mi) al oeste de Santa Cruz de Tenerife. La autopista TF-5 pasa por el municipio. La población es de 30.483 habitantes (2018[2]). En español, los habitantes locales son conocidos como portuenses. Con una superficie de 8,73 km2, el municipio es el más pequeño de Tenerife. La elevación del centro de la ciudad es de 9 m de altitud y el punto más alto es Las Arenas, un cono volcánico con una elevación de 249 m.
