It is important to take into account your skin color. Lighter skins are better suited to light blues, greens or light blue, while men with dark skin have a wider range of colors at their disposal.
As for prints, they will also have to match your shirt. If your shirt is already patterned, choose a plain tie, you don’t want to saturate it. If, on the other hand, your shirt is a single color, break the monotony with a patterned tie.
