We have not created a ranking of the most beautiful ones because we understand that they are not comparable with each other, we start with one of our favorites, that great forgotten one that does not seem to exist for tourism agencies. It is located in the «fonte sagrada», in A Fonsagrada and is none other than the one known as Seimeira de Vilagocende.

Maximum galicia
In Galicia we can boast of having a large number of waterfalls or fervenzas, as we Galicians like to call them. Every corner of the Galician geography holds a surprise, and many times it is in the form of water.
In the surroundings of Silleda (Pontevedra) we also find the forest of the Fervenza do Toxa river, a space included in the protected Natural Space of the fluvial system Ulla-Deza. The waterfall has a jump of about 60 meters high, which can be seen both from the viewpoints and from the base of the waterfall.
This is one of those places in Galicia that you have to know. In Barro, by the road N-550 that joins Caldas with Pontevedra, when taking a detour you arrive at the Natural Park of the Barosa River. This park is so called because an old road that was known by this name used to run through here.
In Pantón (Lugo), in the middle of the Ribeira Sacra, is one of the most unknown waterfalls in Galicia but which competes in spectacularity with others in the community. The waters of Rego das Cernadas and Calve and fits into a deep rocky valley that descends 300 meters in just under 2 kilometers. In its final stretch is where the waterfall is formed about fifty meters high.

Located in Pantón, in the heart of Ribeira Sacra, it can be reached on foot through a hiking route (Augacaida – Castro de Marce Route) or by zodiac through one of the existing river routes. If we access walking, after a path that brings us closer to an ancient castrexo settlement and the remains of a fortress of the tenth century, is this magnificent waterfall formed by the stream Aguianza. With a fall of 40 meters, it is a gift for our sight. It can be admired either from a balcony conditioned to contemplate the great jump or descending to the same waterfall by steep stairs, but be careful, because it is a very steep descent.

El recorrido desde la capital de la provincia es de unos 15 km de agradable paseo por una pista casi llana entre bosques de ribera, molinos, islas, paisajes rurales y el río con sus aguas como referencia siempre presente. Para los que tengáis tiempo y curiosidad por descubrir cada paisaje en profundidad, quizás caminar o ir en bicicleta desde Lugo sea la forma más agradable de conocer esta singular zona. Para los que quieran tomárselo con más calma, existe la opción de parar en una posada en el bosque para volver al día siguiente con una sonrisa en los labios que dure un buen rato.
Una vez que te adentres en el bosque da Fervenza, ya sea por los senderos naturales o por carretera, descubrirás que hay varias rutas que se juntan, se unen y discurren unas junto a otras. Te servirán de guía en función del nivel del río en cada estación del año. ¿Y si visitas el bosque en una época en la que el río y el bosque se funden en un único y salvaje paisaje? Las rutas en la parte alta del bosque te llevarán a diferentes puntos donde podrás ser testigo de este gran encuentro entre el agua y el bosque. ¿Y si el sol, el calor y las posibilidades de baño son una verdadera tentación? Entonces descubrirá que hay varios senderos que le llevarán a hermosas pozas enclavadas entre las rocas y la abundante vegetación de las orillas del río. Incluso puede seguir caminos que le llevarán al corazón de los antiguos bosques de robles con oscuros lagos llenos de vida y misterio. Y para rematar este viaje de los sentidos, hay una buena red de pistas y desvíos que podrá explorar a su antojo, inventando la ruta que mejor se adapte a su estado de ánimo sin miedo a perderse.
