We spent a lot of heat, because despite going all the time by cordal there was no wind. The water ran out quickly and we started with three liters each, but we were saved by some snowfields that we found and where we recharged our canteens with the help of salt tablets. If it hadn’t been for the snowfields I don’t think we would have made it to Cuartas.
Too bad that the route coincided with the hottest days of the summer (so far), but otherwise, superb, and personally, the bivouac and not do the route in one day seems right, it is much more enjoyable.
What a pity, I was looking forward to it. Don’t bother. hehe. I like to go along the edges but I don’t like to run (neither on the edges nor anywhere else, except on the rocks that I go down jumping so that the stones don’t slide with me) and as Cuarte said with the wide-angle effect of the camera it distorts part of the route, although you have to have a good head to do things like that.

From the summit of espigüete
I see that Damián has disappeared… I call him, he appears, he went down to a snowdrift, he could not stand the feeling of thirst any longer. Further on in the ascent to the Curavacas some thin lines of water running down the wall makes us suck the rock, literally, «everything inside», water, lichen, earth…
In the end the passage is not too complicated, we descend to the Collado and climb the Curavacas. The South channel is full of snow, we go down the normal one, when we are in the shade Damian goes out shot down the rock face, and recovered the bastard of him. After 14 hours (12.15 hours of walking) we arrive at Vidrieros, where Oscar is waiting for us. Our body does not allow us to get upset. Some cokes, beers, chips, take the van and return to Langreo. Soon Oscar is snoring, and so to Langreo, Damian and I talking about our things. Before the end of the day, we are home.

After starting the ascent at an adequate pace, there is a moment in which we deviate and we go out to a spur that is above the North Cirque and after several climbs on slabs we manage to link again with the via hitada and that a few meters later connects with the crest crest. After 1h20′ from the stop we reach the main summit and take the opportunity to chat with the people who are there and also to drink the last sips of water we have left.
Lacking water we do not stop much longer and then we head to the north face to link up with the track that leads to Mazobres in just about 25min. We are a little dehydrated but it is 12.16h and Diego is already waiting for us in Pino Llano, so we decide to hold on a little longer and stop to take water quietly in Puente Agudín.

The same Friday I prepare the logistics and although I expected to go to bed at 20:00 between one thing and another until 23:30 I do not get to sleep, at 2:30 the alarm clock rings and at 3:00 I start from my village, Gallarta, located in the Mining Area of Bizkaia.
During the trip, when passing by Reinosa it rains, but they gave a 0% chance of rain, in Cervera de Pisuerga I try to fill up with gasoline since I have been with the reserve, but there are two hours left until the store opens, so I decide to continue and at least I get to Vidrieros, it’s 5:30 and the car marks 8º. I have breakfast, stretch and at 6:00 I start to ride.
The south wind prevails, the «labyrinth» of the Curavacas ridge I pass it without problems, the milestones «spit» me to the south slope, so my left muscles suffer and to avoid making a decaffeinated Integral I have to make vertical climbs to touch the peaks.
If I have no gas, well, I hope I can hold out until Cervera, well no, soon the fucking car stops, shit, I’m fucked, I’m near a village, a rancher gives me 4 liters and saves me, ticket! And the gas station of Cervera will not close at 22:00? because I do not have time, no, it closes at 23:00, uff, what a relief, I’m saved.
