To descend from the Collado Morgao to the forest trail, the best option is to take a path that starts from the pass itself and that goes halfway down the slope, with good views of the valley formed by the Arroyo de Barcaliente. We take the detour to begin to lose altitude progressively, without complications and between low vegetation.
All this part of the route is done very comfortably. At present, the vegetation is not a problem, probably due to the passage of animals. The path approaches a forest track, close to some old marble mines. The forest track, in joyful descent, takes us directly to the initial detour where we begin the circular section of the route.

Around 9:00 am I set off from the village along the track that goes up to the Puerto de Piedrafita heading N-NW. Going parallel to the Torío river, we leave the long meadows of Las Campas on our left, cross the Valdeloso stream over a small concrete bridge and pass the Juncalabroso fountain.
From the sheepfold we continue descending until linking with a track that runs along the bottom of the valley and by which we will go up in tight and successive turns until reaching Las Llanas de Fontanillas.
At about 17:15 h we put an end to this attractive route of about 20.8 km and 1226 m of accumulated positive difference in altitude. Then I had the opportunity to chat with several villagers who informed me about the names of the area and that I have incorporated in this report.
