On March 14, the BOE published, in its Division of Rights of Grace, the cession of the title of Marquise of Casa Valdés by Beatriz Ramírez de Haro y Valdés in favor of her eldest daughter, Isabel Urzáiz Azlor de Aragón y Ramírez de Haro. The new Marquise is an educated woman. With a degree in Law from CEU San Pablo University in Madrid, her extensive academic curriculum includes a doctorate (Cum Laude) in French philology, and a degree in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from the Complutense University of Madrid, where she obtained the National Award of Excellence.

And a diplomatic post or being a marquis is not achieved with money, so it is a differentiation that is interesting for them. In fact, it is better to be one here than in Europe, because the American nation does not have such a marked question of social envy. They have that quite healthy point of saying that if you are a millionaire it is not something you have to hide, nobody is going to scratch your car. The ideal, of course, would be to be a marquis and a millionaire, but most of us marquises are broke and come from broke families. So the title, at least, allows us to survive in ruin.

Even without Esperanza Aguirre, José María Aznar, Luis Bárcenas or Rodrigo Rato, the PP would manage to look appealing, in my opinion, because of a basic and recurrent political decision in that party: its usual millionaire ministers.
